New photos of Skylar's litter added to photo album
Topic: T-Day is coming

I just received some photos and an email from one of Skylar's pups owners. I will be looking forward to seeing her again after such a long time.

Her name is Pasha.

I finally got some decent photos of Moonshine and Joy standing sideways at alert, watching the workers remodeling the house next door, or maybe it was the feral mama kitty they ran off. At any rate, they are very hard to photograph or else I am just getting too slow with the camera to capture the exact moment and pose I want.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am also looking forward to seeing an old high school friend of mine that I haven't seen since I graduated from Fresno High.

I hope to finish the role and have it developed soon.

Topic: Finding old photos

I have been going through some old photos and trying to upload them here and at Classmates.com.  I added a few at Classmates, and came across a photopost card that one of my puppies owners left here when he bought Bishop.

I lost contact with his wife Nichole and am wondering how Bishop is doing.  The last I heard he was a very huge blue male dane who was eating her plants while he was growing up.

Nichole if you or Mike are still around can you get in contact with me.

I am also looking for photos for Senorita Fiona Boo, who lives in Mexico City, Mexico.  She is a full sister to Skylar.  I know I was mailed some, maybe by email, but I have lost them and so can't upload them.

I came across one blue dane with cropped ears but I am not certain whose dog it is, the floor is tiled, so I think it might be Cristins in NV. and not the Senorita, who might be a Senora by now.

Been busy, on the computer and I realize I need some new photo albums for all of the loose photos I have and didn't keep up to date, also some of my older albums have seen so much use over the years the covers are loose.  I still don't want to go into the cyberspace Technological world, and in my mind the way things are going in this world, to go straight techno and then get completely cut off would put the world back into the 1800's. From what I understand the technology is out there to take techno world down.

If there is an electrical outage, my cordless phones don't work, I also can't charge up my cell, and in my case, I can't even cook on the stove as this place is all electric.

Halloween come and gone
Topic: Having a bad time updating this

It has been so long since I updated or tried to create other pages on this site or on Fan Tan Great Dane.  For some reason I cannot find out out to create a page on this tripod website.

I either have turned off javascript on this computer, or else I am writing the scrolling message incorrectly.

I wanted to put my mission and contract on another page and then link in the way I do over at Angelfire. Maybe the blog and the photo album have replaced creating mutiple pages, or maybe it's a tripod thing.  At any rate at least I got the date and time on the first page of my website.

As you can see I don't use anyone elses program for creating webpages, I use the html codes and dhmtl codes to build my website.

I wanted a drop down box, but that requires me to add pages to this website.  I got the drop down box, but for some reason the button wouldn't appear after the box, so no one could click into the other sites.

This is more than frustrating.

Every time I get on the computer, RCA and Holly decide to take advantage and play in the hallway.  RCA will lie on his back in the hallway, and roll over from side to side kicking the walls, while Holly play attacks him.  Between the two of them I am quite busy.  RCA seems to think that he is the mail man, he steals my mail. At times he seems to think he is a plumber, he has started digging up the irrigation lines around the sprinklers and exposing the pipes.  He learned at a young age of around 7 weeks how to use his paw like a hand and swing open the gate to the hay barn. In fact, if he sees one of us doing something, he has to try to do the same thing.  Holly isn't as bad as RCA, but I think that RCA needs a guidance counselor to figure out what he wants to be when a grows up, either a mail man, or a plumber.  He and Holly love to help with the laundry too. If only they had hands instead of paws.

Moonshine is still a big pushover, and cuddly but very big standing at over 34" at ten months.  RCA is a tad taller then Grandpa TJ who is 35", but he doesn't have as heavy a body set as Grandpa or Moonshine.

Joy is around 30 or 31 ", I need to remeasure, and I have no clue how much they weigh as my vet doesn't have a big dog scale.

At any rate, I will try to keep this page like it is, I have no choice, I can't tidy it up by adding additional pages to it.

OH Well..... Technology must go on and change.  I refuse to get that much updated, just to keep the pages tidy.

TJ get his stitches removed

Took TJ to the vets to get his stitches removed.  He was an awesome gentle man. As always, especially for a dog who really wasn't taken off of his property.  There was a beautiful black great dane baby age 12 weeks old in the waiting room.

I had to ask the woman where she got the baby, and she said Porterville.  I didn't tell her that was where Inspector Von Maxwell Brown came from, but I wondered if she was a descendant of his.

When she went into the doctors room, she let out a squeal.  TJ perked up his ears, but as she didn't say any more he took no action.  He is such a good boy, and now my vets assistant who is also a neighbor of mine, knows TJ Down command.

I am glad it is over.  Now I need to get the rest of the Gang in for their shots.  I really wish I had done their ears.  RCA and Holly both hold them up right, RCA's kind of tip at the top of the ears, and when Holly holds her ears up, she crosses them over one another like her Uncle Danny and Grandma Bee did when they were in tapes.  It is a shame that there is an age limit to have them done, because I have a feeling those two want to hold them up.

I am so exhausted, through my own medical stuff, the dog medical stuff, the fence building the plumbing emergencies, and I forgot to mention I think, the Mira and Buddy getting out into the back pasture I need a break.  Maybe it's the change in the weather, who knows.

Another Plumbing Emergency

The pups and horses have been teasing one another for years.

A couple of days ago, I looked outside and called for Holly to come inside.  Then when I didn't see RCA I thought he was off near the barn.  I looked out of the picture window to see RCA on the other side of the fence wondering how to get back into his space. We fixed the spot where they separated the staples for the non-climb and thought that was the end of it.

I looked outside and Holly Jolly was running with the big four leggers.  So this time we found the big staples and fixed the fence again.  As they had learned the first time how to get into the horses area, the second time reinforced the behavior.  While we out manuvered them the third time, they managed in their effort to again play with the four leggers, to break the pipe I use to fill the horses water troughs.

This would have been a not so urgent plumbing emergency, except that the men who resetting the back pasture had left an opening in the fence where the well is the week before, and the blond stepped on the pipe that goes underground and down to the barn, breaking it.  If we had only put the shut off valve back on for that pipe, we wouldn't have had the emergency nor needed turn the water to the house off. Oh well.

I wish I could see the pups faces when they actually get sized up against the other four leggers in the same yard.  I also wonder what they do once they get loose in that yard.  I know Mira wouldn't hurt them as Maxwell Brown was here when he was first foaled out of Henrietta. Well he might pull on their ears the way he used to grab Maxes ears.  I didn't see any marks on any ears so I guess that didn't happen. Buddy the blond on the other hand is different, some days he has a halfway pleasant look on his face whenever the pups lay down in thier yard where he is standing and some days he doesn't.

I guess the pups don't go near Melania or else she has matured to the point to tolerate other animal species.  When the pups were very young they would grab her hay out of her stall and eat some of her alfalfa, so maybe she has adopted them as hers.  Who knows what goes through the minds of animals unless you can see that extra wrinkle around the horses nose telling you they just are not in the mood, or see thier ear position, or the telltail [pun intended] sign of them wringing their tails in displeasure.

Busy Day today...

Had a busy day today.  Tried to take some halfway decent photographs of the pups, now age 10 months but they were not co-operative, and I didn't put them on leashes to get better contol over where they stood.  I did use the squeeky toy they tore out of the witch we bought them last week to get their attention, but they were still too close to get good side shots.

We are thinking about taking them to the Halloween Dog Parade tomorrow, and even saw some childrens costumes at Costco that would look good on the girls. There wasn't very much for the boys though.  We were thinking that since RCA has this thing about opening our mail, we would try to dress him in a mailman uniform and convert some dolly stroller into a mailbag complete with unsolicited mail, but we don't have the time to throw that costume together.  Holly would look good in the purple velvet dress but my roomie thinks she would look better in the pink number.  Oh well. We really don't have the time as we are finishing rebuilding the back pasture fence that has been down for over a month.  I will be so happy to have that back up as Buddy and Mira took off after the workmen forgot to lock the back gate.  My neighbor drove over to let me know that he and the Blond had gotten out.  Mira had taken off to her house down the back of the properties and they locked him up.  I am glad they know where he lives. Of course by the time I found the halters and lead ropes Mira had already made his way home for dinner.  I had locked the gate so the other horses wouldnt' take off too.  The blond Buddy, wasn't so smart he found himself in the pasture next door which is now a vacant house.  The neighbor that let me know that Mira was out, also let me know that the other neighbor next door to her had moved out.  My god they have lived there for over 25 years.  So now there are two empty houses next to me.

I was watching the dogs next door, they have a mastiff, a shepard mix, and a black lab puppy. I watched them sitting on an old redwood picnic table, and the table was sagging under their weight.  I wonder how long it will be before they decide the can leap off the table and land on the patio cover!?!  That ought to be interesting to watch.  They love cats.  It's a good thing that they are ok with cats, because now that the material to rebuild the back pasture is gone, the ferals will need a new home.

Not much else, except I am scheduled for an MRI for my lower back.  The MRI I had done last year is too old now for the spine surgeon, so he wants a new one.  It will be good to be out of pain for a change.  I have been in pain since I fell on the porcelain tile floor rushing Missy Bee to the ER back in Dec. 06.

Lost Fan Tan Dane Photos Found
Mood:  happy

I went looking for old photographs of my danes at the Internet Archive site.  I found several that had been sent to me by owners of my Fan Tan Great Danes.

To see these photos see the photo album on this website.  I am so glad I could recover them without going through my old A: disks.  I guess I will begin an album for the Fan Tan Dane website and place those old photographs that have been sent to me by Maxes pups owners.

For those of you who still believe that my danes are not showable, please look at Cabo's AKC Canine Good Citizen Patch.  His owners Cindy and Danny took him to AKC club functions and he won his award in Utah.

TJ's Surgery
Topic: TJ's Surgery

I keep trying to post and update on TJ, Hildydanes Imperial Prinz, but whenever I go back in to add something I forgot to write about I get a null notice.

So, TJ at the age of 7 years and 4 months has been neutered.  He had an foxtail or goatshead which caused him some problems. I am pulling them out of the ground by hand as they are getting tracked into the house via the bottom of my feet.  He did well at the Vets, was kind to the other patients in the waiting room.  He had to stay over noc, and I picked him up on Sunday the 4th of October.  I had just bought him a pink and white soccer ball because it reminded me of his favorite toy, toy his Purple Monkey in size and shape, it also is the same color as his other childhood favorite toy his Pink Pig.  I didn't leave it at the vets, and as soon as he came home he picked it up and cuddled it.  He is also trying to sneak it out of the house so his grandchildren don't destroy it.

The pups got a witch toy and have already disemboweled the squeeker from it, but  they are having awonderful time with it.

TJ had a return trip to the vets on Thurs the 8th, as he had some swelling which needed to be drained, so it was yet another trip overnoc, and another anesthesia. He goes back to the vet next week to have the stitches removed.

Blue Diamond Puppy Names

I registered the remaining pups from Blue Diamonds Skylar and Kit Balou V FTD and opted to use their Health Care Plan for each puppy.

Their names are Blue Diamonds Holly V Fantans:

She is full of spunk and we call her Jolly Holly.

She is very inquisitive and knows how to open the closet door where her Grandmother Fantans Miss Blue Bayou's ashes are kept along with her Uncle' Fantans Steely Dan's ashes are.  I am not really that supertitious, however, she has taken on Missy Bee's personality.  I am hoping she grows out of it like her Grandmother did, and becomes the Lady I once knew and loved.

Then there is her solid blue brother, who has been registered as Blue Diamonds RCA's 'N Elf V. Fantans.

RCA is quite the character, while he is a bit thinner than his brother Blue Diamonds Moonshine V. Fantans, he thinks he is the enforcer for the pack.

Moonshine and his larger brothers were always push overs, I am not sure if the smaller ones were getting their 'bluff' in early or not, but he is going to be a sweet replacement for his Grandsire Hildydane Imperial Prinz.  He has the same sweet gentle nature as TJ.

Then there is Blue Diamonds Joyeux Noel V. Fantans, who is a well put together alpha female.

Will post photos if and when time permits.
